The framework in four numbers
Clear rules, applied the same way everywhere.
Policy pillars
Four pillars, one standard of excellence.
The Quality Assurance Policy Framework 2026–2027 organises the Directorate's work into four pillars, each with defined processes, owners and timelines.

Pillar I: Academic Benchmarking
Every programme meets or exceeds GTEC standards through biennial curriculum review, teaching observation and the student evaluation of teaching.

Consultancy & grants
Bring in a project the right way.
Every consultancy or externally funded grant that uses the University's time, name or facilities is routed through the University and registered with CQAD. The policy protects staff, funders and the University alike.
- 20% institutional overhead, shared 30/20/20/30 between central administration, school, department and the PI's research fund
- Consultancy fees paid from the project budget, never from operating funds
- Mid- and end-of-project CQAD reviews for projects over GH₵ 50,000 or 12 months
Independence
Independent by policy.
The Directorate carries out its functions with institutional independence. No school, directorate or individual may obstruct, interfere with or unduly influence any quality audit, review or compliance assessment. The Director reports to the Vice-Chancellor, works with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor on academic quality, and reports annually to the University Council through the Vice-Chancellor.
